A postcard from Sanders Reserve Recreation Path, 180 Sanders Road, Paremoremo.
A throwback to the end of July, before we went back into lockdown, when we hopped in the car on a cloudy cold day and chased the sun out to Paremoremo Creek, overlooking Waitemata harbour. Undulating trails, sandy hills, tidal mudflats, Monarch butterflies, an incredible sculpture (The Faraway Tree, Phil Bonham), views for miles. I’m usually the one that researches and decides where we’re going to go on our lil weekend excursions, but even so you never quite know what you’ll discover when you set out – it’s always such a joy when it exceeds all expectations!

For better views of the Faraway Tree and how it came into being, watch this video by the artist.
